ROOFTOP U-SHAPED LED RUNWAY — COLUMBUS FASHION WEEK, OHIO
In October 2019, Columbus Fashion Week staged a headline show on top of the Veterans Memorial building on West Broad Street — open sky above, the Columbus skyline behind. The lineup included a designer who had created outfits for Lady Gaga. The stage for it all: our U-shaped LED runway.
The build: 160 LED units forming a large U-shaped runway and stage. The U-shape wasn't just for looks — it was engineered for one-way model traffic: models enter down one leg, cross the bottom of the U, and exit up the other, so the show flows continuously without models passing each other mid-walk.
The venue challenge: A rooftop show means every unit travels up, the layout works around the roof structure, and the schedule works around the sky. The daytime setup shot below shows the scale of the seating plan built around the runway — every seat inside the U is effectively front row.
The partnership details: The show grew during planning — the build was upsized from 120 units to the final 160 to fill the rooftop, and because the fashion week runs as a charitable production, we knocked nearly $1,000 off as a sponsorship. The organizers supplied their own local crew for the labor, working alongside us on the install.
Once the sun went down, the runway did the rest. Footage from this show remains some of the best video ever captured of our product in action — watch the show video on Vimeo.
